LawCheck is a subsidiary of Defend-it Legal Services Professional Corporation, headquartered in Pickering, Ontario, Canada.   Defend-it Legal Services Professional Corporation is a multi-disciplinary legal services firm.  

We are a legal services firm licenced by the Law Society of Ontario.  This entity is under the operating name of Defend-it Legal Services.

We are also a Private Investigative Agency and fully licenced by the Ministry of the Solicitor General.  Our Private Investigative Firm is bonded and insured.  All our Private Investigators are ex or retired police officers.  We are highly experienced, disciplined and knowledgeable in a variety of investigative and surveillance services that are available to businesses, law firms, legal services firms, landlords, HR professionals and private individuals. This entity is under the trade name of 10-8 Investigative Services.

And lastly, we are federally accredited and licenced by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to conduct civil fingerprinting and background searches. This entity is under the trade name of Defend-it Fingerprinting Services.

Leon Presner, the founder and owner of Defend-it Legal Services Professional Corporation is a retired police officer, now a Private Investigator and Paralegal with over 27 years of policing and investigative experience.  Retired from the Durham Regional Police Service, he enforced federal, provincial and municipal by-laws within the Regional Municipality of Durham in uniform and plain-clothes capacities. While in the Detective Constable role, his specialization was investigating computer-related crimes, frauds and sexual assaults.
